Fortiche: Can you tell us about your career?

In 2012 I studied video game director/designer at LISAA Paris and then I joined the Gobelins school (Paris), in the animation film field.

During my third year at Gobelins, I had the chance to pursue the "3D Character Animation" course in Annecy, allowing me to build a network.

Then I had the opportunity to work as a concept artist and junior art director on some video game projects, including the game Absolver (Sloclap). Then, I started my career as an animator on Jungler's Spycies project.

When I graduated, I joined Illumination McGuff on the Minions 2 project and joined Fortiche a few months later.

F: Why did you choose this career path?

For many reasons; during my studies, I gained quite a versatility in the animation and video game production area. The recruitment criteria tend to rather focus on specialized profiles, so I turned to one of the aspects that interested me the most: animation.

My ambition is to bring video games and animation closer together, so that each can benefit from the other's knowledge and innovations. Arcane being based on a video game, it is the perfect example of this combination.

F: How long have you been working with Fortiche?

I have been working at Fortiche since April 2020!

F: What is your role on the project or at Fortiche?

My role on the project is to give life to the main characters of the show through animation. It's like a puppeteer's job. We imagine the intentions and video game references that we project into the characters. We often use homemade/online video references as material, or we rely on observation. It's a job that also requires a certain way of drawing, sculpting, morphology, framing and staging.

F: What is your best memory at Fortiche or do you have an anecdote to share with us?

We have recently set up small musical projects (jam, choir) with colleagues, so it constantly creates good memories! :)
